Fall Classes

Hi all – I apologize for two posts in the same day… This one is for my local subscribers. Normally, I have all my dates for Christmas Card class picked out in June. This year, for some reason, I haven’t been quite as prepared – and now I’m feeling a little behind schedule!

Registration is now open for my Christmas Card Class, and I also have a couple of openings in my monthly Card Club. Plus, for the first time ever, I am hosting an exciting FREE event to celebrate World Cardmaking Day!!

Sparkly Birthday Roses

Happy Tuesday – I hope you’re all enjoying your summer. At last this week it’s feeling like summer weather around here. Of course I’m back at work, but at least it’s warm!

Today’s SweetStamps.com theme is bling. Instead of the traditional rhinestones, I decided to use glitter and liquid pearls. It’s my first foray into using liquid pearls, and I like them, but they are messy!! You have to apply them very slowly and carefully so you don’t mess up your project!!

I also decided that I needed another tag instead of a card this week. I definitely need to stock up on some tags!!

Birthday Roses tag

I used the Cutwork Rose stamp along with the Fancy Birthday stamp. Of course, I used my copics as follows:
- RV17 & RV19 for the roses,
- YG93 & YG95 for the leaves
- B000 for the background
- outlined with C1

I left the lines a little less blended between colors because I wasn’t sure how much you would be able to see through the glitter… I like how it turned out – as always, glitter never looks quite right in a picture. This tag is very eye-catching in real life!

Check out what the rest of the design team has done on the SweetStamps.com blog. And please feel free to play along – you could win free goodies from the SweetStamp.com shop!!

Thanks so much for looking & happy craftin’!!

SACC #19 – Love You

Happy Friday! It’s my last lakeside installment for the week. It’s a great exercise to work out of one parcel of goodies – a challenge that everyone should try sometime. But it will be nice to have all my embellishments and tools again!!

With that, I bring you week #19 of the Sister Act Card Challenge. Hard to believe that the term is almost at a close.

Love You card

This week I used Lil Tin from The Doodle Pantry. He’s another pre-colored image, making for a nice quick card. I used a tag, some ticket stubs, some strips of designer paper and some candy dots to bring it all together. And I am loving the chevron ribbon that I put on the tag, too. I need more!!

Thanks again for popping by and happy crafting!!

It’s a Girl Thing

Happy Wednesday! It’s another iPhone installment from out at the lake. So again, I will be brief (‘cuz posting on a iPhone takes forever!!)

Today’s card is for The Cutting Cafe using the printable stamp set called All About Girls. Love the cute little dresses in this set!

It's a Girl Thing Card

I used my Copics to color. The designer papers are Bella Blvd and I finished it all off with a flower brad and plenty of bling. I hope you like it.

Thanks so much for looking and happy crafting! Have a wonderful day!!

SweetStamps Silhouettes

It’s time for another SweetStamps.com challenge. Today’s theme is Silhouettes. A rainy day at the lake gave me plenty of time to play with this challenge.

Pixie Silhouette Card

I used the set called Pixie Silhouette along with my copics – YG61, RV10 and BG10.

I’m updating the blog via my iPhone, so it’s a very slow process. Forgive me for being brief. I do appreciate you popping by!!

Thanks so much for looking & happy craftin’!!

Friday how I love you – you are totally fab!! It’s that time again – time for another Sister Act Card Challenge!

Fab Card

I’m using an adorable little digi from today’s sponser – she’s called Leggy Lilly. How cute is she?! I colored her and the fab tag with my copics and then used some fun, bright colored designer paper to keep it whimsical. I hope you like it!

Thanks so much for looking; have a wonderful weekend!

Sparkly Christmas Trees

It’s midweek – yay! Boy oh boy do I need it to be the weekend already – I’m exhausted!! Summer means that the kids are staying up too late, which means that I’m not getting my quiet time after they go to bed – because by the time they finally fall asleep, that’s all I want to do too! What am I going to do when they are teenagers!?!?!?

At any rate, I’ve got one last Christmas in July themed card to help me escape – to a time with schedules, routines and early bedtimes – yippee!! The Christmas Card Fun Cutting File Templates from The Cutting Cafe makes a fun holiday card in a jiffy. Again this week I was drawn to my sparkle paper. It’s so shimmery and pretty! Reminded me of snow for this card.

Cutout Christmas Trees card

I do not have a cutter, so I had to hand-cut the trees, but since they are all straight cuts, it was pretty quick. Then I simply rounded the corners, added some ribbon and mounted it to a green card base using foam dots. A bow, button and some rhinestones finish of this little cutie. I hope you like it!!

Thanks so much for stopping by & happy crafting!

July Christmas Tags

It’s Tuesday, and that means it’s time for another SweetStamps.com project! Today is another Christmas in July theme – Christmas Tags. It’s a really good feeling to get some projects done this far in advance. I think I might just have to stamp a bunch of these to color on rainy days out at the lake next week…

Gingerbread Tag

I used the Gingerbread Duo – Large stamps, and colored them with copics as follows:
- E33 & E35 for the cookie,
- R81 & R83 for the pink details
- R24 & R29 for the red details
- outlined with W3 and W1, and
- highlighted with some white gel pen

Check out what the rest of the design team has done on the SweetStamps.com blog. And please give it a go – if you share your Christmas Tag creation, you could win some goodies of your own from the SweetStamp.com shop!!

Thanks so much for looking & happy craftin’!!

SACC #17 – Time to relax!!

Friday means it’s time to kick back and relax – and enjoy the next installment of the Sister Act Card Challenge!

Summer is flying by at an alarmingly fast pace, so I wanted to feel a little extra beachy today. An itsy bitsy bikini will do the trick (sorry it’s not yellow…)

Time to Relax Card

Remember to join us over at the challenge blog and you could win some free digis - Anything goes!

Thanks so much for looking; have a terrific weekend!

Time to Sparkle!

Today’s project is another Cutting Cafe shaped card. This week’s challenge was to use the Nail Polish Shaped Card – perfect for a certain girlie girl I know!!

Nail Polish Card

I used silver glitter cardstock along with some hot pink for the banner, and black for the cap.  I combined two of the sentiments for the banner, and I put a rhinestone in the middle of a button for a little more bling.  As a final touch, I attached a row of rhinestones to the cap – so cute!  This was really a fun, quick card to make – I LOVE it!!  I hope you like it too.

I never realized before how hard it is to take a picture of glitter.  It looks very dull and grey in this photo, but it is adorable in real life – very bright & reflective…

Thanks so much for stopping by & happy crafting!
